The school student leadership positions that are available are as follows.

Senior School: 2 College Captains – These 2 students will lead whole school assemblies and other functions such as ANZAC Day etc. throughout the year. They will also feature in promotional material and overseeing all other aspects of Student Leadership.

2 College Vice Captains – Similar to the Captains
1 College Sports Captain – Who will work with PE/Sport staff to promote/organise carnivals and general participation in sport
1 College Arts Captain – Who will work with Arts/Music staff to promote/organise events like the Spring Concert, Rotary Annual Arts Exhibition etc.

School Captains can be appointed from Years 11 and 12, regardless of what educational program they undertake (VCE, or VCAL).

Students interested in these positions need to write a short submission (no longer than 1/2 to 1 page), indicating the reasons why they would like to be a Senior Captain and what they would bring to the position (submitted to Mr. Williams). Senior nominees will make a short speech (1-2 mins only) to all students and staff at another short whole school assembly.

Intermediate Learning Community: 2 Captains and 2 Vice Captains – A small expression of interest is required (once candidates are known, students would vote for their leaders) Nominations to the ILC Leader (Ms Vincent).

Junior Learning Community: 2 Captains and 2 Vice Captains – Given our Year 7s for next year won’t be able to vote at this point, we will hold off on these elections until the beginning of next year.

Leadership Training will be provided to all of our Student Leaders, with the possibility of also working with Bayswater Rotary to establish a community service project. Bayswater Rotary have also flagged their desire to provide a $200 Annual Scholarship for the student who has demonstrated an exceptional level of community service/involvement and there will be further student opportunities to for involvement in other community based functions and projects where possible.
