STEP TWO                MINDMAPPING

Once your team is selected you will need to develop a good idea.  Your idea must fit into one of the four Lantern Film Festival Categories which are:

Magic Moments        What’s the Problem?            Why Is It So?             Our World Our Future

Please take the time to look at each category before starting your planning. Your teacher will notice that curriculum links have been included if you need some good ideas.  Now that you have selected your category your team needs to think of an idea and create a Mindmap to set out your ideas clearly.

STEP THREE                STORYBOARDING

Now that you have an idea about what your film is about it is time map out each part of the film.  A storyboard is a table made up of boxes in which you and write and draw the sequence of your film.  The number of boxes isn’t important but your storyboard should be a clear plan of what will happen in your 2 minute Film.  Storyboards should clearly show everyone:

WHO is in your film! WHAT they will say and do! WHERE your film is set! WHEN your film is taking place! WHY your film is important! WHAT type of camera shot you will use!
